Funniest Action Line Ever
Old Ideas are Never the way of the Future; Unless they Adapt with the Times.
LOL I just saw it for the first time tonight, loved it as well. One of my favorite Jackie Chan movies now (not counting American ones like Rush Hour, Shanghai series etc.)
I mean I like some of his other Chinese stuff a lot too like Rumble in the Bronx (probably one of my favorites, not sure why), Drunken Master 2, Mr. Nice Guy, Who Am I etc., but this one is great too, not sure why everyone hates on it. It's hilarious and has great action. I love when musician Jackie is in that big shootout just trying to stay alive and he starts driving that bus and it just gets all torn to heck, sooo funny.
Anyways, this movie is definitely better than some of his other stuff like Thunderbolt, which I also saw recently. THAT movie was dull. Had some great fight scenes but they were ruined by the director's use of near constant slow-motion (that wasn't even done well, it almost looked like the video was just poorly encoded or something), I could hardly believe how stupid they were to screw up the action with that horrible slow-motion effect.
Let's not even mention some of his crappy English movies like The Tuxedo and The Medallion, talk about horrible. Twin Dragons on the other hand was a real blast and one I would love to see again some day or even pick up on DVD sometime (I saw it on Netflix streaming). C'mon guys it's just a FUN movie. Get over yourselves! =)
I agree, this movie rocked. I saw it for the first time last night. I was cracking up laughing!!!!
shareThis is by far Jackie's funniest movie.
shareReally??. To each their own. I remember going to see it with a buddy cause the trailers were hilarious & both of us were bitterly disappointed. I think we might of walked out. But it was still better that Master Of Disguise. Those are the only two movies I've ever walked out of !!
sharePathetic thread, no one mentions that half of the world seen a very different version from the original.
With the horrible US dubbing (with Jackie Chan dubbing himself) the movie is sub par. With the original Cantonese audio it is at least an average movie, perhaps even good in its genre.

It tells a lot you're saying "Operation Condor 2". You've probably seen the dubbed versions first, fell in love with them (for lack of a better version), then it doesn't matter anymore if you see the superior original versions, you'll always find the first versions funny, or even funnier.
Every dub I can recall that was done by Jackie Chan in the US, is poorly translated and acted. Watch the original Cantonese, people.

Watch the original Cantonese, people.Almost all my jackie chan movies are in the original Cantonese, I only have them because I am a bit of a purist and like the 'original' and the best PQ... That being said, most movies are both funnier and have better flow in the english version (and Twin Dragon definitely falls into this category imo).
I don't speak Cantonese, I have to read subtitles too.
I know plenty of good dubs in the movie history, but none of Jackie Chan's US dubs qualifies for one reason: Jackie's voice performances are always poor. How could anyone give a good performance in a foreign language? It's close to impossible, especially if you don't speak the language too well anyway. And this is only the biggest problem with those dubs.
hearing a sub par voice actor is better then me reading text
Now that is the problem here.
You prefer it dubbed even if the dub is actually worse, because you don't like to read subtitles. It's your call, but don't propagate that those dubs are better than the original sound, please.
