Mirror Scene similarity?

During the mirror scene inside the circus tent I thought it was very similar to another movie I can't think of. For some reason La Strada directed by Federico Fellini or The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus directed by Terry Gilliam comes to mind. Anybody have any idea what I'm talking about? In both films the musician is drunk and captures the antagonist by trickery of the mirror and eventually capturing the opposing character. Do you know which film I'm trying to figure out, I'm trying to see if maybe Allen was inspired by another or if it was the other way around.

Well, not exactly what you're looking for, but the shot of Woody upside down with his head turned is quite similar to a shot in Bergman's Hour of the Wolf, minus the mirror. Ahh nope, I just watched that the other day. I might try and give some of the movies I listed above a watch this month and try to figure it out! I could be wrong though, maybe I've seen the movie before and don't remember and coming across the scene again is making me believe I've seen something similar. I totally remember the scene but I didn't remember Woody Allen being in it! Hmm..
