180 Degree turn since i first watched this film

When i first saw this film in 92, Russell Crowe was the hot new aussie talent. I definitely cheered for the skinheads during the movie

Just rewatched it again after all these years

I was cheering on the Vietnamese guys and cheered when the young skinhead kid got shot by police. The skins picked on the asians who were just minding their own business, they didn't mind when it was 10 against 2 but when they got outnumbered, they didn't like that.

Movie holds up reasonably well

A great breakout performance by Russell Crowe, but IMO, it's one of those films that has few other redeeming features. None of the characters are likeable ( the father's shown to be a sick puppy, just like his daughter and even the police, who are really just cyphers, are drawn as shooting first and asking questions later). This film pays homage to A Clockwork Orange, in very much a B grade, downmarket way, but give me Kubrick any day for presenting a story, surrounded by the trappings of gang violence, something Romper Stomper is unable to do.🐭
