Craig Sheffer

I feel for this guy after some early memorable performances in teen movies(Some kind of wonderful, fight fire with fire, that was then... etc) he had to think this role was going to put him on the map as a big star and be his career maker.
And since then alot of clunkers and straight to video crap(Turbulance 2 and 3)?? OUCH!
I always liked him and wished his career would of went better...i guess he is at least still working...

Actors who's careers peaked mucn higher are lower down on the b movie star scale now.

Think..... the Baldwins.

I think Craig Sheffer could be a lot worse off than he actually is as far as films go, and with that new TV show he is on people will come to know him again.

I think the real irony is that Brad Pitt stole the spotlight in the movie, just like Paul always stole the spotlight in the story. He was the flash, while Norman was sort of the substance. They both did a solid, brilliant, believable acting job in A River Runs Through It, but Pitt's flashy character overshadowed Sheffer's more solid one, and propelled him into A-list celebrity status.

Don't get me wrong, I think Pitt is, in fact, the better actor. Sheffer has done a terrible job choosing movie roles, as well, so that doesn't help.

alistair... thats an interesting point... among many boring ones on this site. Robert Redford ? cast the characters perfectly and lucked out in getting Pitt who was unknown at the time (i think??... maybe thelma and louise was before??). What I am thinking here is that Sheffer is suited for a certain role and his agent hasn't done enough to land it for him. He is a fine actor, yet you can't quite see him as the lead role in Legends of the Fall, or an Irish gypsy in Snatch. To Scheffer's defense, I can't see Pitt playing Norman as well as he did either.

For fans of Sheffer, see "The Program." It's my favorite football movie, and he plays very well as a alcoholic quarterback. It also stars James Caan.
