When I was younger, I used to get this mixed up with Legends of the Fall

Anyone else have that same problem?

It's not crazy, there are a good few similarities.

Both good movies, but ARRTI is clearly better.

I was confused once about the two films. Brad Pitt played almost identical characters in both. Both took place in Montana around 1920, etc. etc.

Except 'Legends of the Fall' is a dumbed-down version of the same themes.
'A River Runs Through It' is a much deeper, well-made and spiritually satisfying film with better performances.

I still mix them up.

They're both set in Montana and both have Brad Pitt. I could see getting them mixed up.

In just an overarching sense, I get the comparison. But LOTF is so damn corny, cheesy, and melodramatic, while A River Runs Through It feels more authentic and quietly powerful.
