Where was the house in real life?

I saw Pitt Street in Mt Pleasant mentioned in the movie writeup, but Pitt Street is pretty dense and most of it is one street back from the Cooper River. I couldnt find the house on Google Maps.

I wonder because my gf at the time took me to a friend's property further up on the Wando. It had a few houses on the property, was riverfront and looked a lot like the main house. She'd said a movie was filmed there.

I'm wondering if the close exterior shots and interior might have been filmed there and the riverfront shots in Mount Pleasant?

I think I'd found it. 107 Venning St.

The house is actually located off of Bennett St in Mt. Pleasant's Old Village neighborhood where they also shot The Notebook and Consenting Adults. Bennett Street is one street over from Pitt St and Venning St connects them. The house sits along the Charleston harbor which is where the Cooper River and the Ashley River meet to form the harbor.

Ah, that makes sense. I was at least in the ballpark. Used to bike along Bennett and Putt. Thanks for the reply. Didn't think this threat/movie would get any action as it's pretty obscure.

Ill check out Consenting Adults, because I'll basically watch any movie to see Charleston. :)

There are quite a few movies that have been filmed in Chas/Mt. P. If you biked along Pitt then you were in my neighborhood. I live on King St where it crosses Pitt and dead ends in the marsh. They actually filmed Consenting Adults on my street. Saw Forrest Whitaker (friendly) and Kevin Kline (too busy filming to chat with the local yokels) so that was cool. Sadly the Old Village has grown too big for its britches- prob bc people saw all the movies filmed here and decided to infiltrate... :-(

I just watched another movie that was filmed in and around Charleston- "An Occasional Hell" with Tom Berenger. Not the best acting but it's cool to see sites that are no longer there such as the Cooper River Bridge.
