I own the first three in the series, and watching part 3 Gilbert's cameo at the end was played by Mike Greenwood, not Anthony Edwards from the first two. They didn't even need to involve Gilbert.

yeah, especially considering he was so fat and crappy looking. louis and the original crew looked almost exacly the same except they replaced wormser too. that guy looked horrible too. no need to even have him unless they used the originals.

i am watching the movie now, i wander why they used different actors to play Gilbert and Wormser? The guy who played Wormser kind of looked like the actor who played him in the first movie except an older version.

Involving Gilbert in the end gave resolution to the fall out between Gilbert & Lewis..thats why they had to have Gilbert.
shareI could have sworn I saw something saying Edwards wanted to make his cameo in the movie, but couldn't do to schedule conflicts. I thought it was here in the "Triva" section, but nothing is here now, so I suppose that wasn't it. I'm pretty sure Edwards wasn't a superstar or all high-and-mighty in 1992.

Actually I have mentioned on another thread, that Mike was a PA on the film, and was drafted at the last minute to play Gilbert when Anthony would not agree to reprise the character for a cameo.
