the padded room

Just thought I'd point out that, after being trapped in the padded room and enduring a climactic battle with Curwen, John March walks over and opens the window (...in the padded room) without so much as having to unlock it. Hilarious.

Didn't Curwen (or the skeleton) rip off the wire mesh first?

reply

they both did sorta, what i can't understand is why the skeleton went after curwin and not john. curwen was a ressurected person too, if they could feed off each other then why didn't the abominations in the lab try to eat each other. strange film lol but fun to watch

The skeleton went after Curwen to get revenge, I would imagine. Curwen had murdered Ward, so Ward's skeleton made a beeline for Curwen once it was reanimated.

yeah it even said his name strangly enough lol. curwin got what he deserved .. did it ever explain why they both blew up though? maybe resurected bodies arn't allowed to absorb each other and ward just wanted to be nothing rather than a ressurected corpse not really sure. the book was neat, curwin was reduced to ashes again and scattered in the wind, but the movie ended him much more brutal.

supamanz, i believez your answer is correct. There's that one scene in the underground lab where they're reading Curwin's diary, and there's a passage/diagram explaining something about how when a reanimated corpse meets with someone under a given condition, they melt together and then are destroyed.

i have the DVD copy, and i know DVDs are infamous for leaving out scenes that are sometimes on the VHS version. on my DVD it says in a nutshell to beware the resurected (and i'm not quite sure if i hear it right) is not someone that has was consumed by you. else they will take back their flesh even if that means stripping it from the bones of the user. still i never heard anything about combustion however, every site that i can find on this movie says that the book says if u are too close to a re-animated that you will both self implode .. something like that lol perhaps i'm missing somthing??

Yeah, when John was reading about it in diary in the dungeon, it's written/spoken in old English, and states something about the flesh desires to return from whence it came, or some 5H!+...
