When he took out the gun he only loaded three rounds, I thought it was odd not to load it with 5 or 6 like most guns take, but when he fired the gun there were three bangs and then click click so it seems like it wasn't a mistake. Does anyone have an idea why there were only three?

No idea, but I did catch that too. 3 rounds in the handgun, one flashlight for the three of them, with failing batteries no less, and no extra batteries on hand. Ugh. You'd like to think a private detective would be more prepared.
shareYes, the film really is a mess. I found myself thinking the same thing. Why go down in such a dark, sinister, obviously evil place with three rounds, only one bad flashlight with failing batteries, and a few matches? Talk about moments that take you out of the story.
