Anyone else thinks this is Tarantino's best work...

... and consider this debut to be his best? I do.

reply

It's his best. His later movies are self-absorbed trash

reply

I like a lot of Tarantino’s work
Django
Inglorious Bastards
Pulp Fiction
Hateful Eight

I don’t like
Death Proof, Grindhouse, or the Kill Bill stuff

But Dogs is his best. Total raw energy and simplistic. Great dialogue

reply

Second best for me.

Pulp Fiction gets first place in my book.

He's a talented film maker, but for whatever reason, these happen be to the only two films of his that I like. Everything else is too homage-laden for me to enjoy I guess.

reply

One of his best yeah.

reply

One of the best. I think I'd rate Pulp Fiction and maybe Inglorious Bastards higher. It's in the upper tier.

Big Tarantino fan. He hasn't made a movie I really dislike.

reply

i find Jackie Brown to be his "best" and maybe most layered.
of course it depends on your preference.

Reservoir Dogs for me is just a decent (albeit stolen) start to a career, but i never find myself re-watching it.

reply

RD is a bit stolen, but totally rebranded and made his own. Same with Jackie Brown. Based of a book. Only QT joint based of existing material.

reply

not sure what you mean.. Jackie Brown explicitly states "based on the novel Rum Punch"
otherwise everyone knows QT borrows from others, just like any other director.

Reservoir Dogs is just not that great IMO

yes with Pulp being a close second...
