Why Did She Fade?

Spoilers ahead.

When Michael and Suzanne are in the office at the bar, Lyle surprises Michael and knocks him out with multiple hits to the head. The next cut is a closeup of a clock on a desk with Suzanne's arm on the side of the screen. Then, almost ghostly, her arm fades out of the screen, but only her arm. Everything else stays in the shot.

I assume it has to do with Michael losing consciousness? Or ? It was rather weird and unexpected, and unnecessary I thought. It made me wonder of her existence at all momentarily, which obviously isn't what happened in the movie. Any thoughts, or did I miss something?

It's to show the passage of time. Her arm was right next to a clock that's part of a statue of a cowboy riding a horse (It actually kind of looks like Teddy Roosevelt). When the shot fades, the clock fades from about 9:40 to just after 12:15, so it shows that Michael was out for over 2.5 hours.
