I love this movie, I give it a 10. But I watched it 1 too many times....

I know there are plot holes in every movie. But some are in the 'Plausible Deniability' zone- which I think is cool. I have watched this movie probably 20 times and just found a huge plot hole on the 20th viewing!

When Wayne(Walsh) the sheriff, finds Michael (Cage)at the hospital and arrests him he questions Michael why he had not killed Wayne's wife(Flynn)- all Michael would have to say is "when I got to your house she was already there."

The plan had been for Michael to wait for her in the house and kill her and make it look like a robbery when she arrived.

The sheriff would have to say "Oh", and let Michael go so he could supposedly try to kill Waynes wife again.

The whole premise is flimsy but it works....'you're Lyle from Dallas, right?' Seems like if you really hired a hitman you wouldn't be convinced by just the guy saying yes, he was the guy....there'd be small details that would verify it was the right guy...not just a license plate from Texas.

That's not a plot hole. Just because it took you 20 times watching this to come up with the best response for Mike, doesn't mean that he had the best idea of what to say.

Look up the definition of a plot hole.

It's called being young, dumb and scared.

Anyway what kind of lame excuse is that? He wants her dead and he'd probably demand his money back from the wimp, and do it himself.
