Hasn't aged well

Rapid Fire was one of my favorite films as a kid and I just watched it for the first time in years. This movie doesn't hold up well because it is extremely cheesy whenever there isn't a fight scene. The only real good thing other than the fights is Nick Mancuso's acting even though it is super hammy, it is entertaining as heck.

Showdown in Little Tokyo holds up much better because it doesn't take itself seriously and also stars a prime Dolph Lundgren.

I disagree. It's a simple action movie from the 90s, so it's going to show its age regardless. That being said, the direction is pretty solid and the overall movie still retains a fresh look that most action flicks of the time don't (Showdown in Little Tokyo sure as he'll doesn't look that smooth by comparison). In addition, the bluesy musical score is anothet aspect that makes this movie stand out a bit (sorta an uncommon thing for a martial arts flick). And while the acting is debatable, I don't know how you can't give props to Lee. He's charismatic as heck, delivers his dialogue quite convincingly, and he simply owns the role. And the unnecessary romance here doesn't feel force thanks to the stars' chemistry and perhaps even some of the writing. I first watched this as an adult and always thought it had more to offer than just entertaining fight scenes.

Disagree. This movie is still great. You should really appreciate when overtly masculine, macho tough guy movies with guns, fighting and one liners were still made. Rapid Fire is a gem.
