I saw it when I was a little kid. I didn't understand it, I mean how was the little kid gonna survive on his own and if the King was getting arrested why did Bobby have to leave. It just didn't make sense and now that im an adult it makes even less sense. Who thought it was a good idea to make this fantastic child hood adventure mixed with realalistic child abuse . None of the producers or directors realized this wouldn't work

Agreed! I remember seeing the trailer back in the early 90's and I thought the premise was just moronic. It's no wonder that it bombed, because it didn't resonate with kids or adults.

It was just a stupid premise.

I like this movie. but the more I think about it, the ending is stupid.
