Has this theory been mentioned?

I've read a few collective theories on the film. I'm wondering if anyone thought that maybe Bobby never actually existed, and that bobby was the manifestation of an abused Mike? Kinda like a second personality, but he was aware of his own abuse but invented Bobby and gave him his abuse to cope with abuse?
