When is Mary Lou mentioned?

I read somewhere that the character of Mary Lou Maloney is mentioned is this film. Also its obvious the beginning took place at the same time that Mary Lou got burned, same prom night and everything.

I didn't see the entire movie, but i saw most of it. I figured that would mention Mary Lou at the beginning but I don't think they did. Where else do they mention it?

Just watched this over the weekend and didn't hear any mention of Mary Lou Maloney.
The only connection between this and the three previous Prom Night flicks seems to be that the characters happen to attend Hamilton High, which is where the three previous "P.N." flicks took place

I watched the start of this movie and there is definately a PN2 reference in there - the couple that is murdered by the priest leaves the 1957 prom - making this movie a sequel, of sorts. They leave before Mary Lou goes up in flames - only to get killed themselves.

Don't recall Mary Lou being mentioned. I love how the couple is murdered by the priest, supposibly at the same prom night Mary Lou was set on fire. But what was already said, the only continuity connection was the high school.

I also love how when the priest wakes up in 1991 (or whenever the hell this movie took place) he looks just as youthful and athletic as he did in 1957 despite being locked up and sedated for the past 30+ years. Yeah, OK. Suuuuuuure.

Either that was because of his evil, or just a huge continuity error.

Or, more likely, they didn't have the funds for effective make-up to make him look 33 years older. So they said "Screw it -- Who cares anyway? -- it's just a slasher flick."

You've just described the Halloween 2018 from 9 years in the past

while doing my own PN marathon lastnite/today!! (about PN3-LAST KISS:"IS MARY-LOU REFREENCED/SHOWN -IN THE SAME storyline 1957 Hamilton High PROM/INTRO FLASHBACK)!? .......if you remember in that VERY INTRO the prom teens mention/show- A "LOUise" character( whos dancing in 1 scene quickly/ then looking premiscuious pulling her dress upw- a guy exiting a secluded class rm- in the Next!?).......Now was "LOUISE" suppose to be "MARY-LOU" for short!? i mean it was the same yr('57) & "the LOUISE" 1-2 Liner (day player) was Bruenett & she was sassy/slutty-the lil' they did show her...... but then again this is just my perceieved analysis & maybe -wishful thinkin.......!?!?

"HOW VERY!!!!!!!"

No, two different characters. Even worse when this film uses a lot of stock footage from Prom Night II.

It sounds like they need to stop having prom at that school. Five major tragedies (including the death of Mary Lou) have happened whenever they have tried. Kind of like how Haddonfield, Illinois keeps celebrating Halloween despite the holiday seeming to resurrect Michael Myers.

I've been waiting for you, Ben.

reply

Haha well Haddonfield wised up and finally did ban it but Hamilton High never learned I guess. However, Prom Night 4 mostly took place after the prom (in modern days of course) so there wasn't really a tragic for the Prom on that night, it was already over. The tragic occurred after in a house with a murderer.

Only people with money say that money doesn't matter.

I'm not sure why they decided to set the opening in 1957. What would have been cool was to have it tie in with the first film by having it set in 1980, that way the police could have just assumed Alex murdered that couple as well.
