Alot of people that have seen this movie really dont like it.They say that the performances suck and the story is lame.Ok so the people arent the best actors but this is a pretty good movie for the 90's.If you think about all the crap that was released in the 90's and compare it to this,this is a pretty good movie for its time.Its a low budget fun movie.I own all Prom nights on dvd and my favorites are Prom night 1 and Prom night 4.
shareI just finished watching it today and thought it was great. Much better than Part 3. I'm not sure yet if it's as good as Part 1 and Part 2, but if not, it's pretty close. I have a feeling I'll be watching it again.

This was a great horror movie, considering how bad '90's horror films were. I like Parts 2 and 3 better but this was still good. I remember when I first saw it when it first came out being completely disappointed by the fact that there was no more MaryLou, but now over the years it has grown on me and and stands as one of the best horror films from the '90's.

Fairly weak and underdeveloped ensemble, BARELY a part of the series even with the super loose connection style (besides prom during winter being dumb, they don't even go to prom. Literally stand alone), lack of great kills
I mean.. I watched it and I wasn't TOTALLY bored out of my mind, but it's pretty weak

It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing .
It could have been enjoyable but it's too slow, seriously it took one hour for the first kid to be killed.
Easily the least original and the worst entry in that franchise...
