I dont know why people dont like this movie

Alot of people that have seen this movie really dont like it.They say that the performances suck and the story is lame.Ok so the people arent the best actors but this is a pretty good movie for the 90's.If you think about all the crap that was released in the 90's and compare it to this, this is a pretty good movie for its time. Its a low budget fun movie.I own all Prom nights on dvd and my favorites are Prom night 1 and Prom night 4.

I loved the Prom Night series! The first one was my least favorite, but I really liked the second, third, and fourth. I found a great review for the fourth film here:

The only Prom Night that sucked was part 3.

3 was hilarious, but you have to bring in a certain brain level when watching it. It's a very underrated series.

I thoroughly enjoyed this film. The killer Catholic priest Father Jonas was a genuinely creepy and nasty villain. Moreover, Nicole de Boer made for a very appealing heroine. Better still, there was no silly disruptive humor to diminish the severity of the in-your-face harsh and unflinching horror. Plus the brooding religious angle gave this picture an extra sick and subversive edge.

And Nicole de Boer is a walking wet dream.

Who doesn't enjoy a good genital punch now and then?

I think it's an alright film. Definitely better than the recent Prom Night Hollywood pumped out. There were some really cheesy moments, like when they thank Jamie Lee in the limo. Other than that, the movie is pretty decent. I only paid $2 for this one and Prom Night 3, so I'd say I got my moneys worth. haha!

It's not that bad, and it's better than III.

Its been a LONG time, since ive seen this one, but I do remember feeling like its the weakest in the series.

Just did a Prom Night marathon recently. I would say this movie ranks second in how much I enjoy the whole series. Hello Mary Lou would be first, this, and then Part 3 for third and the first last (a little dull and too DARK as in I can't see what the hell is going on!). I think Father Jonas is a cool villain with a badass choice of weaponry. And ooooooh, Laura! Mmmmmm!

BTW viewing this tonight made me think about something. Is it possible that this could be a movie that was supposed to be it's own movie, but then just added the Prom Night title and the PN staples (Hamilton High, Brock Simpson, and the line "It's not who you come with, it's who takes you home"). They have done that with so many other sequels in the 80s/early 90s. I know the whole series isn't canon (2 and 3 are the only ones with the same story), but the story here is so different I just couldn't help but wonder.
