When did Hamilton High become a Catholic school?

So I remember Hamilton High being very public school with the kids wearing very public, casual clothing. Now it seems to be a hard lined catholic school with evil nuns and uncomfortable uniforms.

Unless that was supposed to be another school and not Hamilton High???

Did they become a catholic school in hopes that it would ward demons away from the school since they've had so many issues there? I mean I guess The axeman killer from the first and then the 2 incidents with Mary Lou Maloney did put a dent in the school so perhaps they just decided going Catholic would make it a holy place and ward off demons?
