There are some excellent scenes in the prison segment. Here are two good examples:

1. When P.K. first meets Geel Pete (Morgan Freeman's character) in the boxing ring in the prison yard. ( A third character could be the prison guard who tells Geel Pete to "teach this boy to box or I'll...." (fill in racial slurs and threats). Geel Pete asks P.K. a question and P.K. says "Yes,sir."
The Geel Pete quickly whispers to P.K. to "never call me sir". They have a short discussion about this so P.K. will know how to act in order to keep the guards from beating up Geel Pete. (P.K. is only about 7 in this one. That might be a problem for you.)

2. This is later between Geel Pete and the "really mean" prison guard. It is after sundown and the rest of the prisoners are singing in a concert performance while Doc plays piano. The song is in an African tribal dialect the guard does not understand but he is suspicious of the meaning of the lyrics.
Geel Pete is late so he is walking through the courtyard alone towards the concert. The guard corners him against a wall with his nightstick and insists Geel Pete reveal the words the prisoners are singing. After a few brutal blows from the guard, Geel Pete gives in. The song tells of how the prison guards are "confused, afraid cowards". Then the "really mean" guard beats Geel Pete to the ground and leaves him to die.
P.K. (now about 13?) finds Geel Pete on the ground and is able to share some last words and tears as his mentor dies.

I thought of one more (there are so many but in terms of 2 or 3 actors, this is a good one):

P.K. is around 17 now and he wants to date Maria Marais but he needs to ask her father's permission. Professor Marais comes from a long line of racist leaders. They resent the English settlers as well as all blacks, etc.
In the scene, Professor Marais is sitting at a desk in his office and P.K. comes in to ask permission to see Maria. Their differing views become quickly apparent and Marais refuses to give his permission. This is between two people.
However after P.K. leaves, a rather nazi-ish policeman that Marais has called comes in and Marais directs him to keep a close watch on P.K. and report back. ( In the movie, P.K.'s nemesis is also with the main police, but I think it would work with just one if you wanted to add that)

Anyway, break a leg, and let us know how that turns out, ok? Sounds really neat!
