Sarah Johnson's character seemed to be the most multi-layered

Alphonsia Emmanuel played the role of Sarah quite convincingly. She seemed to go through a lot of change at Peter's house. She got bit by introspection and hit the hardest by the judgement tray.

One thing I love about this film is that the main characters are all multi-layered and complex, they seem very much like real people. There are no 'filler' characters. I particularly like the fact that the *women* are interesting characters, because (please don't hate on me for saying this) female movie characters in particular are often very two-dimensional.

I agree.

Really? I gotta say that Tony Slattery's character felt really forced. It's too bad, 'cause I loved Slattery on "Whose Line" and here he's not given a very good role imo.

But yeah that's the one big exception. The main six were amazing, especially Stephen Fry.

I think that's kind of the point. He's trying so hard...the character, I mean...to be in this new relationship. He's got problems with his wife for whatever reason and in his attempt to leave the relationship problems behind, he's found Sarah. She's NOTHING like his wife, or even like HIM for that matter. He's trying to not only impress a new GF and her friends, but also trying to be something he's really not.
