the Way You Look Tonight - how done?

I;ve often wondered how the song, The Way You Look Tonight, was actually filmed. Most songs in movies are prerecorded. Was this a prerecord or was it recorded live on camera.
If live, it would have been very tough to coordinate all the movements of the principals and the camera and get everything to come out right.

I don't know how it was done, but I know it is my favorite scene in the movie. The first time I saw this film, I was flipping channels on the T.V. and landed on this scene. I was captivated, and I had to see the rest of it. I loved it. I finally got to see the entire movie, and I adore it. But the scene with them singing "The Way You Look Tonight" is what made me fall in love with it. :)

It is ironic that the only time these awful, self absorbed characters seemed likeable was when they harmonized beautifully to this gem of a song written way back in 1936!

It is my favorite scene in the movie.

Others that come close are the Underground song at the beginning (I finally was able to print out the lyrics to follow it along - great opening), the explanation of the loss of Simon, the reconciliation of Roger and Mary and the closing.

Fun to see the Cambridge Footlight players reunite for this film. Unfortunately it does not get the airtime it deserves in the States. Maybe the film will be released on dvd due to Hugh Laurie's popularity.

Branagh seems to usually record live on camera.

yeah, and considering, from what I've heard from several of those actors on different occasions, sometimes in school, they used to do that anyway, with Laurie on the piano and eveyrone else singing.

It's so sweet, that scene... too bad none of my friends can sing and I'm the onyl one who plays piano (badly).

The glass isn't 1/2 full or empty, but simply fulfilling it's purpose.

My favorite part of the movie and it's not on the soundtrack

No idea since there's no extra material on the DVD that may explain it. But whatever, it's a perfectly lovely scene however it was done. So enchanting.

How did they screw up the lyrics? I mean, what did they actually sing instead of the correct words? Were they muttering some standard showbiz "I forgot the lyrics here" syllables or something? They sang something like...

Some day when I'm awfully low
Strikeys cuttys cold [should be, When the world is cold]
I will feel a glow just thinking of you
