absolutely fantastic movie

i've never laughed and cried so hard at the same film. the cast is wonderful, and it's just really put together well -- it's something i could watch over and over again :]

I agree with you 100%!
I love so many things about this movie. I love how Carol and Brian are the outcasts, and they're the only ones that can stand each other. I thought Carol's joke about Brian carrying her luggage was funny, but I loved how no one else laughed about it, but him and her. I loved how there was so much subtlety... like how Sara and Andrew still had feelings for each other, but it was not brazen lust, and had changed with time. Or how Peter and Andrew discussed their college days, and said just as much with the things they didn't say. It's such a wonderful movie. It just makes me feel good to think about it. I love the dinner scene, and the one right after it, when they're all around the piano singing. It makes me wish I had friends like that. :)

I know! I love it. Just the right combination of humor and emotion.

I was around 13 I think the first time I saw this movie and I used to rent it all the time. Just watched it again after not seeing it since high school, I still adore it. So glad I bought for 2 bucks off the internet. I recommend it to any one who doesn't need to laugh all the time during a comedy, because it does deal with some very dark subjects. And, if you can handle that, it's a movie for you. Does the ending leave you begging for more? It always does for me! Also, perfect soundtrack.

Yes, this is one of those rare films which has pretty much everything - humour, pathos, well-developed characters, genuine surprises, superb acting, a fantastic soundtrack, and a wonderfully satisfying ending. Terrific film.

I agree with you even though we are posting six years apart..haha.

This is one of my faves from a long time ago but it only gets shown occasionally so I watch when it comes on and always love it. The nineties were my fav decade for movies. after around 2005 things really went downhill and now with the vampire and sci fi garbage and animation it really can't get much lower.

IMDb; where 14 year olds can act like jaded 40 year old critics...another poster

The same here, great cast among which some of the most popular names 17 years later, Hugh Laurie already showing his immense talent. The whole cast seemed like a bunch of actor-friends playing their characters perfectly.

NICE!
