Ultimate New Year's film ever, IMHO!

Agree?

It depends. Are you going to watch the film or threaten to show it to people unless they buy you drinks on New Years Eve? If the former then no, this is not the ultimate New Year's film ever, it's still a pile of worthless dreck. If the latter, hey, that might work.

WE ALL GET IT! YOU HATE THE FILM WITH A PASSION.

you are a moron sir gonzodoodah, but fortunately you've realised that yourself and left these boards for good! What a tool!

A great movie, but the ultimate New year's movie is "Irony of Fate, or enjoy your bath".

Peter's friends is a bit too sad for a festive night. I say it's a great movie to watch on the New year's Day, after you cleaned the house, the kitchen, the guests have left and it's just you and your spouse/partner - you can reflect on the friends you have made/lost/re-united with in the last year.

I think it'd be a bit too depressing to watch at New Year. I saw it for the first time on Channel 4 last Saturday and I think the end of January/ beginning of February is a good time to watch it because I'm always depressed at this time of year! Its also good because I got back to uni at the beginning of February and I get to see all my close friends again!

And In the Bleak Mid-Winter is a good film to watch on Christmas Eve.

reply

Yes, as long as you mean it's the ultimate new year's mood killer movie that'll make you want to commit suicide before midnight.

reply

I can't think of a better film to watch on N.Y.E, if you're in the company of your friends.

reply

Yes I agree, personally I feel that basking in the insinuation that a mothers grief over her dead child can be overcome by penis magic is just the way to see in the New Year, rather than say, going out for dinner and drinks with real friends.
