Andrew has a nice sarcastic vein, I do like that.

but I guess I would go for Peter.

reply

I actually liked Sarah Johnson's character played by Alphonsia Emmanuel.

reply

No, it has to be Peter, or Maggie. I seem to have known a lot of women like Maggie in my life!

reply

All characters are rich and interesting, but I would say Peter.
A marvellous performance by Stephen Fry.

I love Peter to bits but I think i would have to plump for maggie. Emma Thompson is so superb and maggie gets thing so wrong and wears the most hideous outfits. I absolutely adore her.

How fab! How keeeeewl!!!

My fave friend was Nick!! Kewl!!

No, wait, he was from 'The Big Chill', not this third-rate ripoff. Sorry - it's a bit hard to tell the two films apart, except for the fact that The Big Chill is a brilliant film and Peter's Friends is a worthless pile of *beep*

reply

"The Big Chill is a brilliant film and Peter's Friends is a worthless pile of *beep* "

Don't watch the latter then.

reply

My favourite has to be Peter - he seems like such a lovely guy! I would say Maggie, but I've got an awful feeling that I'm going to end up just like her in about 10 years time when I leave uni! :)

I like Andrew too, he's quite cool!x I think because Peter is definately out of the equation and Roger is married, he's the one I'd go for :)

Luv Claire!x

I adore Roger. I don't know what it is about him but my fave bit of the film is when he is playing his guitar when he and Imelda Staunton are in the bedroom and she starts singing! Love it!

Twelve times did the iron register of time beat on the sonorous bell metal

reply

I agree, Stephen Fry's portrayal of Peter is wonderful, that scene where Maggie goes into his bedroom is so well executed. Who can fault a Stephen Fry Performance!

By the way Wilde Child Where did you get your signiture - I think I know it from somewhere but I'm not sure.

I've swallowed the little book of calm.....

reply

Hi victoriasquire,
The signature is from a Morrissey song, but I have changed it a while ago.

I think I must have one of those faces you can't help believing.

My favorite characters are Mary and Roger. I love the little duet they have once they have some fun.

I like Andrew. Especially his sarcasm ("Is that wardrobe real?" "No it's imaginary"). It's funny when he gets drunk as well and just starts rambling on.

reply

rodger and mary are definately my favorites.

reply

Peter and Roger, mainly because I'm a huge fan of Fry and Laurie.

"Say thank you, Gilbert. Say thank you."

reply

Peter because he has this sweet smart side to him that draws people, and for the record I have always been a fan of Stephen Fry

Maggie, because as dowdy as she was, and then when she brought the sexy side out of her, she was a sweetheart.

Sarah, because somebody needs to tell my girl the truth about men, there are good ones out there if you take a look. but Carol was right on in what she told her in the movie.

Andrew. He just needs a hug and a shoulder to cry on.

reply

I liked Andrew and Carol. I loved Carol. She's so neurotic... it's great. I loved how she didn't eat anything at dinner, then in the middle of the night, she's eaten everything in the house, and doing aerobics in the kitchen.
I also liked how she listened to Maggie without judging her, and actually tried to help her. She had a sweet side. She was irritating as hell, but likeable...

Amen, LOL

reply

Andrew and Peter. They gave the most comedy to this movie, in my opinion.

reply

Maggie, she was just so sweet.
Sadly, I kinda identify with her sometimes lol
Roger and Mary comes in on a close second.

reply

Definitely Maggie.
