Not bad for a '90s sequel but really??!?!

Who decides it's okay to change Jeff's character mid stride? First he's a typical teenager we want to root for then suddenly he's evil - that grin was not the grin of a mixed up kid making bad choices. It was the grin of a sociopath. Threw me out of the film. I'll suspend disbelief as far as the walking dead, vampires, aliens, etc - but not when it comes to character.

The writing is terrible. It's not a grief-stricken sympathetic character driven to a desperate, horrible act, like the fist movie. It's this completely idiotic change of character that comes out of nowhere. And even worse, he flip-flops back to good once he realizes his murderous, undead zombie mom wants him dead too.

It's like, wait, I'm supposed to root for this guy still?

Cripes, I'd have been happier if the only survivor was Gus!

Re-watched this again for the first time in ages, surprisingly found it pretty solid, as I remember it being so, SO NASTY - Still is, but found it more darkly humorous. Of course, it has some crappy moments here and there.

I didn't really feel that Jeff had become evil, but that he had really lost his mind, after all the crap that's gone down.

It was more weird that he just seemed back to normal at the very end as they drive away lol

It seems like he finally snapped back to reality when the undead and mutilated Clyde attacked him.

He was a kid. A kid who lost his mother right in front of him. Then loses his best and only friend. If anything you could make the case he was driven more so than Louis. Also I found it much easier to root for Jeff than I did for Louis. Louis was an adult, and should have known better. Jeff was a kid, kids are supposed to be stupid

It's very entertaining. Pretty fun. I watched it for the first time in years last night.

I remember really liking this back in the 90's, except for the finale. Which seemed kind of flat.

When I watch it now, it's still pretty cool.

Haha, yeah ultimately I think it's a pretty darn entertaining movie.

Although I did have a small problem that there wasn't more of transition with Jeff's Character, I know he secretly harbored a fantasy to bring his mom back but at the end he did seem like an evil kid, I figured he lost his mind when his best friend and his mom died. I guess I wish there would had been a scene that he was losing his mind like at Drew's funeral.

it's interesting that they made this more of a teen movie where the first one was about adults. i guess it's not that abnormal to try to appeal to a younger audience.
