The worst of the Jack Ryan movies

I went to this in the theater when it came out excited as I really loved The Hunt for Red October and I came out of the theater not impressed at all. I went years without watching it again and today I gave it another chance and I still don't like it very much. I don't hate it but I guess it's just a simple revenge movie that really doesn't go anywhere. Most the characters feel so wasted and the whole movie could've been so much more. I do think it's beautifully shot and it looks great and acted very well but it falls so flat to me. Call me crazy, I know, it's just not that interesting. Watching it today gave me some Deja Vu but it wasn't about anything with the movie it just reminds me of the early 90s and how great that time period was. If I watch it a few more times maybe it will grow on me but I'm not counting on it since I feel about the same about it today as I did in 92.
