'I just want to tend the rabbits George.'

All he wanted to do was tend the rabbits. It's all he wanted to do. Poor guy.

Lennie`s constantly thinking of the rabbits kept the dream alive...but of course you don`t know that!!!!! With lennie`s death also the dream came to an end. And lennie wasn`t stupid...he was just simple....and naive

reply

Lennie was perhaps the wisest of them all (with exception to George, of course... there will always be a special part in my heart for George)

i hate all of u tht said n e thing bad about lennie!! lennie is the best and 1 ur being jerks to anyone that is mentally retarded which so imature its insane and 2 lennie is the BEST!

reply

Lennie was an amazing character, played exceptionally well.
I'll be back

reply

He has the mind of a child, what do you expect?

reply

Maybe what happened to Lennie was all to the best. He would have just killed all the rabbits anyway...

reply

Yeah, it was the best ending for him. He didn't deserve to be locked up in a dark cell, but he couldn't be left in society. George did the best thing for him. Don't know if many people could have done it. It was, surprisinly, a really good movie. I can't believe a movie based on a book actually played like the book.

i don't think you can kill donkeys by petting them or any other accidents lennie had

Don't play with fire. You Will burn.
It's just a possibility that I will kiss a doorknob.

reply

George is the best friend, he tried letting Lennie have mice, then a puppy, and would have let him have rabbits, if it would have been possible xXx

If you think about it though Lennie was actually right about alot of things. this is based on the book as i haven't seen the film yet but Lennie is the one who said they should leave, george said they should stay and bad stuff happened. Alot of georges ideas got them into trouble. Lennie isn't stupid, he's simple like a child or an animal. But in the end it was a mercy for george to shoot him otherwise he would keep getting them into trouble.

You're so right. He would have done his usual thing and pet them too hard.

Yeah. But he's dead. Sucks for him.

reply

The book should be titled ''Of Rabbits and Men''...Heheh

reply

I think the real hidden tragedy here is Lennie WAS incapable of tending the rabbits, he would have killed them.
