Freaky Styly - Great song

That song Freaky Styly is fabulous. George Clinton inspired funk played to perfection. But fgorgive me for saying, that version of the Great Pretender? It's so schmaltz-filled over-produced crap, it ruined every scene it was included in. I know Freddie has his obsequious followers, but not everybody likes that "gay-rock". The Platters!! Now they knew how to make that song mean something. But Freddie's version is like comparing Muddy Waters to the zillions of white hippy rock inspired bands that made the blues maudlin and devoid of it's life force. But The Platters? They had so much heart behind that song it's just a shame to hear it bastardized to such sappy proportions. But again, Freaky Styly shows how white boys CAN FUNK. The song has that insistent drive that propels black music so far ahead of imitators.
