Night Trap DVD

This is one of my all time favorite games and really wished it was released on consoles that could handle full screen, full motion video. Unfortunately it was not that lucky, and neither was Digital Pictures. The company that produced the game went bankrupt in the late 90's and the rights (originally belonging to Hasbro) were sold to Infrogrames, which is also a defunct company now. In the late 90's/early 2000's, I had the pleasure of speaking with Jim Riley (Director) as well as Tom Zito (former CEO of Digital Pictures) on several occasions, trying to bring Night Trap to DVD. I had the company Digital Leisure (people who ported Dragon's Lair and other movie-based games) lined up to make the port and everything looked promising. However, the licensing for Night Trap (and Sewer Shark) is a huge mess. The intellectual properties are almost unknown at this point. What made matters worse is that everyone thought Hasbro still owned these rights, but had a sour taste in their mouths with this game back in the day. Jim Riley even has all of the original film and everything necessary to bring it back to life, but I highly doubt it will ever happen. I've posted this here in hopes of someone else devoted enough to unlocking the mystery of Night Trap's license/intellectual property rights. If not, at least everyone will know why they never see this game on any new systems. For a game that was so revolutionary for its time, it is a shame it doesn't live up to it these days.

yeah, If mad dog mcree and dragons lair can get dvd ports, why not this and now with bluray technology, it would be so easy to play.
