Disney should re-release Newsies in Theaters
With all the occupy L.A. this and that, I think the time is right for a re-release of Newsies! I always loved this original cast, dunno bout the broadway one yet though the dancing looks hott!!!

A big screen release would be fun, or maybe a new special edition DVD, although it would be hard to top the special features on the current DVD version currently out there.

If they had a special edition DVD that had all the deleted scenes and more behind-the-scenes stuff on it, that would be pretty awesome. :D I'd buy it.

I was really hoping for a 20th anniversary Blu-ray with deleted scenes. From what I've read from a cast member, there was almost a whole hour cut from this movie. With the new-found popularity of the stage show I was really hoping. I just saw that Lion King 2 is coming out on Blu-ray. Wasn't that a straight-to-video? Please Disney, release Newsies on Blu-ray and add those deleted scenes!!!!

They are releasing Newsies on Blu-ray on June 19 for the 20th anniversary. It doesn't appear that there are any new special features so if you don't have a Blu-ray player then I would say you are safe to go ahead and get the DVD now. I have the DVD and will be getting the Blu-ray in June when it releases.
