You know what's funny?


They used to show this film alot on an NYC-based local channel when I was a kid (weekends mostly), but I wasn't too interested to watch it. (I remember the commercials for it) I wished they'd show it now; with the Broadway musical being popular, I'd like to see the film to get a feel of what it's about.

ETA: I know that it wasn't successful commercially when it was initially released. I wonder why that is. Anyone know or have a theory as to why it was a flop?

RE: Why it was a flop- It was the 90s. Live action movie-musicals just weren't that big at the time, unfortunately.

Also, if you want to see it now, I think the DVD sells for relatively cheap. I got my copy several years ago for like $10.
