The reason Newsies has a cult following...

Is because the only people that liked it when it came out was a bunch of kids too young to know this was a stinker. They've grown up.

I <3 Emily Blunt

I saw Newsies for the first time when I was 13. I'm in my thirties now and it still brings a smile to my face.

I love this musical though I think it would be much better if it was a drama musical like les miserables or something =)

I saw it when I was 17, still like it 10 years later.

You're absolutely as wrong as you can be. The reason it has a cult following is because it was INITIALLY unpopular and then its popularity grew over the years, not the other way around.

I gotta agree with everyone else and say that you're wrong. I was only 2 when Newsies came out and it was a huge part of my childhood. I grew up with it. I loved it then and I love it now at 24 years old. Sure, it's never going to be considered as the best movie ever made or receive any special acclaim but it was, is and always will be my favourite movie.

I didn't see it until I was out of high school and I immediately loved it!!! 14 years later I still love it and I just saw the broadway show, I was disappointed cuz they changed so much and took out (and flat out changed) a lot of my favorite lines.

I saw Newsies in theaters when I was 7 and Now I'm 30 and I just watched it last week and it still holds up... Some movies get a second life after theaters and become cult classics... Angus, Dazed and Confused and Mallrats were all 90s box office flops yet I haven't met many people around my age that haven't seen these movies at least once or twice. Cult classics have to stand the test of time and Newsies has done that.

Hey! I'm 31, now, and I saw Newsies in the theater, when I was around 7. This movie has stuck with me and I love it now, even more, and find myself inspired by it. My grandad is from NY and he was inspired by the newsies strike. He's a great union man and worked for Chrysler in Detroit as long as I've know.

I watched it as a child. I'm 25 now and it's still a good movie
