Short fat old loser like Vinny bags a sexy young Lisa???!!??

So unrealistic, it was already established he was no wealthy fella, so it's a ridiculous that someone THAT good looking as Lisa would be stuck on Vinny.

I'd understand if he were wealthy, or much taller, or much better looking, but he had no youthful qualities about him

Doesn't make sense!

Please note, I do not want comments from housewives, students or the unemployed.

Of all the unrealistic *beep* in Hollywood I think this was plausible. First of all I don't think everyone agrees Marissa Tomei was THAT gorgeous in this film.

But most importantly, guys who lack the physical traits can make it up with other things. He had balls and a great sense of humor. That goes a long way. And it was obvious they had the same background, so they already had a cultural bond to work on. For a girl like that some waspy Jude Law character would have been boring.

Marisa Tomei loves short, stocky, balding funny men!

Appearances aside, they were extremely compatible and worked well as a couple. Same wit, humour, personalities and interests. If they also had a fulfilling sex life I can't see why they wouldn't be together.

Maybe Lisa's hotness prevented other more conventionally attractive guys from hitting on her and she liked the fact that Vinny had the balls to go after her and she found him really funny. He was also not afraid of a fight and obviously quite capable of handling himself despite his average height.

He took out TJ with one single punch (albeit a bit of a sucker punch lol). Maybe when they were out on their first date some guy made a comment about him or Lisa and Vinny put him in his place with a wise-crack remark and then when challenged he beat the sh!t out of the guy just for good measure.

Lisa and Vinny both come from a background were honouring your man and lady and important, so his charm and protectiveness of her would most likely score very highly with her and her family. Vinny was working at her father's garage at some point during law school, so perhaps they met there or even grew up together.

I know in real life they 're 21 years apart, but I got the feeling that in the film Lisa was meant to be later 20s and Vinny mid 30s, so a round a 7 to 8 year difference, not something that would really be frowned upon if they started dating when she was 18-19 and he was 26-27 and he was a nice respectable Italian guy from the neighbourhood.

Vinny even though he had no trial experience was indeed a lawyer. That would be a tremendous social boost to Lisa's social status, and seeing how her and him both came from working-class origins they would have had a good deal in common.

Lisa's attractiveness and working-class accent would though normally serve to work against her. She would be exactly the type of woman an upper-class cad would seek out to use and then dump.

She probably felt safe and elevated being with Vinny, probably from her working-class family's perspective, her being with and then marrying a lawyer would be a real feather in her cap.

Vinny being from the working-class would make for better relations with her family, when you marry a person you do in a sense marry their family.

This movie does an excellent job of portraying characters who took advantage of opportunities while also remaining down-to-earth. Vinny, Lisa, Judge Haller, are excellent examples of people who have advanced themselves in various ways, while also not forgetting where they came from.

You need to grow up.

Women do not look for the same things in men that gay men do.

This is the comment, a typical comment on IMDB, of a maroon. In real life, many attractive men or women are attracted to people others might find undesirable.

Seems to me that only shallow people wouldn't know that.

lol I was attracted to him, and I wasn't even thinking about looks. More like the charm and charisma and confidence! give me that any day ;) Most of the guys I'm attracted to are not "conventionally" attractive though.
