Why is Gonzo attracted to chickens?

This just occurred to me. I grew up on the muppets and I'm watching A Christmas Carol now and at one point Gonzo oggles a chicken that walks by. It's funny, but I was just wondering if anyone knows if there's a specific reason

Its a reference to The Muppet Show, where Gonzo had a chicken named Camilla for a "girlfriend".
