Has anyone read the book?

I just ordered a copy of the book and also a VHS version of the film from Amazon.com. Has anyone read the book and what did you think of it? Better than the movie as most books usually are?

Amongst his prolific output of short stories and novels (many of which were produced in cinematic versions, such as “Lili,” “The Three Lives of Thomasina” and “The Poseidon Adventure”) Paul Gallico wrote a series of four books about Mrs. ‘Arris — “Mrs. 'Arris Goes to Paris,” “Mrs. 'Arris Goes to New York,” “Mrs. 'Arris Goes to Parliament,” and “Mrs. 'Arris Goes to Moscow.”

My library only keeps two of the books. The one for this movie and the Moscow one.

Anyhow, I hope you don't mind but I add the info you mentioned about the books into the Trivia section.

The books were published in the UK under the titles Flowers for Mrs Harris, mrs harris goes to new York, mrs HArris M.P., and Mrs HArris goes to Mscow.

the book is charming. it differs from the film in some respects as far as i can remember, though it is a long time since I saw the film. I generally prefer the book, it is more subtle than the film.
