DVD release?

Since the recent passing of the great Christopher Reeve who is just wonderful in this film, it seems to be that the studio who produced this along with director Bradford May should get this released soon to DVD. I find this to be one of director Bradford May's (Darkman II, The Bacchae) best works. The VHS version which is rarely available (I was lucky to find one at Hollywood Video after going through many stores in search) is in ok condition, but obviously could benefit from a new digital transfer.

Another good question is if this film was shot 1:85 or simply 4:3. I know Mr. May has worked with both ratios without any trouble, but am curious to see if this film had an alternate format when shot. It is true that this film is reconfiguration (not a straight remake) of Hitchcock's I Confess, but this film does add a lot of new layers involving a priest struggling with ideologies and the antagonizing rules and regulations around him. Even though the psychopath is the antagonist to this story, the true villain is indeed the conflicting regulations that Reeve's character keeps encountering. A great sign of great writing!

Hopefully, this will come to DVD soon.
R.I.P. Christopher Reeve
