wow this didn't hold up for me!

This was one of those obscure movies I remember rather liking as a kid. Usually when I re-watch those, I'm kinda like...okay, I get.

I just caught this one on HBO and was like, wow, so bad! I mean I guess there were a few funny moments but it was just....yyyeaaah I remember it being a lot better as a kid. Which I suppose is obvious but, again, usually I have a better understanding when rewatching now why I liked as a kid, than I did watching this just now. I found myself wondering what was so appealing about this to me versus other kids movies that I found outright awful or dumb.

As an adult, John Lovitz is pretty much the only entertaining thing in the movie. I guess he might have amused me as a kid too....? he was kind of embarrasing and dorky and that was interesting. I guess that's it? And I remember liking the random rat creature in the dungeon, so I fully expected him to be in it more than two seconds. But nope, lol!

But also as an adult, lol, whoever played that white bird son...dang! nice body! with his little strappy outfit haha.

I just rewatched it and it was just as goofy as I remember it. It's cheesy as heck, but I think that was the appeal. And yes, that guy... MMM. He's probably 50 now. :P

I salute you for articulating your disappointment in this movie, rather than the usual "this movie sucked" or "worst movie ever", which seems to be the usual critique here at IMDB. Kudos.

I too used to rent this from the store a few times when I was a kid and loved it. Having just watched it 23 years later for the first time I thought it was so bad.

I was surprised to read someone added to the IMDB trivia that it was an unofficial sequel to My Stepmother is an Alien, surely that is just a joke. Just because it has Jon Lovitz in it, who (spoiler ahead!!!) went into space at the end of that film.
