Fake Head In The Dream

Ok. Can anyone at all give me any information about the fake head that the kid is holding in one of the dream sequence. Why is it so fake looking? Why is it there? It looks a lot like Quentin Tarantino. Is it supposed to be him???

It's Robert Rodriguez's head. He's giving a cameo.

It's supposed to be robert's head, and the reason why it's so fake looking is because he made the movie for about $7,000, so he probebly couldn't spend to much on a prop like that.

I remember something about the head in Robert's book, I don't remember the details tho. I remember that when I first saw the movie I recognized it has him, but than was surprised to find out that it was a last minute addition because the head was already in someone's possession. Obviously the bandanna was to make it like RR tho. It was also the only way RR could make it in front of the camera. As a 1 man crew he shot the entire film himself and didn't have anyone else to run the camera if he was in front of it.

The dream scene may or may not be an homage to David Lynch's Eraserhead(1978).

Yeah, the bandanna gave it away.
