The Dresden bombing scenes (probable SPOILERS)

What began as a fairly interesting, quirky movie descended quickly into quite a tedious love triangle film, albeit with some creative visuals, but the moments that take part during the bombing of Dresden were amongst the most harrowing I've seen for a while. From the aerial views down to the horror of what was happening on the ground, they will haunt me for some time.

To me, they made the movie worth watching - The final ten minutes were further tedium, which somewhat spoilt the traumatic Dresden scenes.

Anyone else agree?

Not really - I thought the old-timey aeroplane at the start was pretty neat, and the ending didn't let the audience off the hook.

Well, I don't think the final 10 minutes were wasted or spoiled the film in any way. It wasn't a documentary on Dresden, after all. The scenes of the bombing were very intense, however, and probably just touched on the fury of the actual event, which was quite horrific.

It would be an eerie scenario to be a bomber in a plane, unleasing this hell on the ground, and then be forced to parachute down into it. If that happened more often, we'd certainly have less wars!

Agreed. Say whatever you want about the rest of the movie, the Dresden bombing scenes were the most horrifyingly beautiful scenes of aerial combat I have ever watched in any movie.
