Language: French, English, or both?

IMDb says this is a French-language film, but when I saw it, the narration (seemingly half the film) was in English. All the other roles were in French, with subtitles.

Is this the way the film was originally meant to be seen, or was it all French?

The movie was all in french.

The version I saw only had a few lines of English dialogue. Apparently you saw a different version than I did if the narration is English. It seems weird that they would do that.
