Most HORRIBLE Movie of ALL TIME

The film is one long horror. I noticed those who like this
piece of filth really enjoyed the cat scene. That speaks volumes
for the nature of your minds, guys. Dutch people liked it because
they are crazy anyway. This film was so depressing and so bad that
even Ginette Reno the famous Quebec singing pop star who starred
as the mother has bitterly regretted her playing a role in this.
A shameful exploitation and all who participated in this deserve
censure.

I have difficulty in reading your article. It sounds very much like a moralist piece! The film is humourous, it is very clever and has much to think about. There are magnificient scenes, such as the one in which Leolo goes diving in the mucky waters to hook up recuperable goods! It is a bit of a nightmare but surely that is what the whole film is about. The extreme desire of getting out of where you are without the possibility of doing so can only leed to madness. The story is very creative and full of poetry. Who said that poetry has to be about flowers and bees! Oh, and to conclude I beliv all zat partizibated in ze movi must be shot! You are not entirely out of your time and place, there is still room for you with the muhajidin.

I love this film for all the reasons moral people might not. I enjoyed the liver rape scene, the cat rape scene, the fat sister dual handjob scene, the diving in the water half naked scene, the jacking off to old porn scene, the getting drunk and high with losers scene, the I'm crazy in the ice-cube bath tub scene, the I'm getting drowned by grandpa scene, the my dad watches me *beep* scene, the disgusting toenaile eating scene, the masterbating and almost dying scene, and the drowning in puke scene, etc. If these don't strike you, there are the my brother got beat up scene, and the complementary my brother got beat up even though he's insanely huge scene. So what are people complaining about? There is even a scene where the cross falls off the wall, and the mysterious homeless type guy is given free pie scene. Furthermore, there is the my girlfriend lives in Italy beyond a lightfilled portal scene. My goodness! These are all excellent scenes. I almost forgot: the my batsh_t sister collects bees scene. Who could ask for more? Yet everyone is crowding around the cat rape scene! Crowding around just like all those boys in the film, putting down $'s to dare the boy to do it.

I thought this movie was excellent. It is truly a work of art. Certainly, some scenes are depressing, twisted, and/or disgusting, but that's all part of the story- This film is about an incredibly imaginative and deep-thinking boy growing up in a strange and trying world, and eventually he is gone and his story is lost to all except for that guy who found his records in a trash can...

This is a very funny movie. Liver scene was funny. Cat scene was not supposed to be funny and it isn't. Not the cat is what we are supposed to care about but the disturbed boy. Those things happen. I don't see why people are offended.

i agree with the original posting that this movie was absolute garbage. & please dont give me any of that crap about "oh you must only like hollywood movies & i like art blah, blah, blah". yawn. ive been going to midnite movies, foreign films, indies and odd art films before half you here were even born. trust me, ive seen them all...& i hate hollywood. that said, i just thought this film was pointless. forget violent & vulgar. what was the point? what was the director trying to say....like someone else said, it just had a flase ring to it. i didnt buy anything i was seeing. none of the scenes had a follow-up or conclusion. it was just one scene after another of grossness...none of it tied together. even the most bizarre films have some thread of conciousness to it. this was just pure exploitation wrapped in arty/indie film paper. im sure some people saw something in this & think its great. i just wasnt impressed.

im sure the director will be heartbroken that you werent impressed. he may even consider suicide when he reads your devastating critique of his film.

here's an idea -- keep your pretentious idiotic drivel to yourself, or go annoy some other people with your witless boring opinions.

I AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!! I HAD TO WATCH THIS FILM IN A FRENCH CINEMA CLASS AND I COULDN'T STAND IT. I REALLY WANTED TO LEAVE AND HE SAID WE COULDN'T. IT WAS SO GROSS AND SAD THAT IT SCARED ME AT TIMES. SOME OF IT I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND EITHER.....

i don't really understand why people were so affected by the cat scene, that part was really such a minor part of the movie for me, who knowwwws, enjoy

Leolo was truly awesome - only somebody who has been to those depths of existence could appreciate this movie and get incredible meaning from seeing the suffering portrayed. For all who were appalled - good! It worked - and Lauzon achieved the desired effect. It should be a testament to how plasticly we live our lives. How many movies have been made about the holocaust and the horrors are still not real enough? Wake UP! - It doesn't get much more real than this in cinema! Just because in the western world we have the luxury of considering animal rights - what about human rights - people cared more about the damn cat that would become somebody's breakfast anyway - than they cared about the child who could do that!!!! Don't tell me it is the film that is messed up!

What film were you watching??? God forbid anyone have to do any thinking while watching this movie. It isn't an easy film to watch, that is true. However it is a film with substance.

The cat scene is one of the more interesting scenes because of what it does to you as the viewer psychologically. It is actually frightening but if you listen to (or read) the dialogue, you will notice that it is a scene of total despair. Watch it again but don't look at the image. And it is one of the final scenes before Leolo gives up hope. It's gut wrenching, not because so much of what is being done to the cat but because of the commentary of Leolo. The imagery is frightening, the dialogue is of despair. To combine those two things smacks of genius on the part of the director. I don't know of any other film that has ever attempted to combine scenes of fear and despair like this. I've seen many films where fear and despair are happening at the same time but never where one is the image and the other is the commentary. If you just see it as a filthy scene of a lost kid getting it on with a cat, you are completely missing the point. I don't think anyone who likes this movie enjoys the cat scene. It wasn't meant to be enjoyed. I think the people who enjoy this movie understand the cat scene. Apparently you didn't get it. Watch it again, and you will see it smacks of genius.

And by the way, aren't you just a little tired of Hollywood formulas?

Exactly and perfectly illustrated in your post-thank you. We are meant to ponder how low the human situation can go with the two concepts: fear & total despair. So many of you think (in your white-washed existence) that scenes like these are just crazy and ultimately non-believable. You should spend some time on the street with kids who play in dumpsters and have absolutely no positive interaction with adults. You can do a "Lord Of The Flies" scenario in about any major US city and many backward rural areas as well (which rival their city counterparts). Watch "Gummo", for example and tell me there aren't really places or kids like that.
