First of all, I don't quite understand his farewell words just before he put both of them to sleep. "We were just too greedy, baby." Greedy for what? For hurting each other, for paying back?

To try to answer the subject myself, I vote for him, because he dumped her in a much harsher way than him being dumped on that sidewalk after having glimpsed a bit of heaven. Cruel, sadistic. Perhaps the worst, she lost a chance of giving a birth. Only then she caught his manners and payed back substantially.

I am calling them a playful name, dicks, since they were isolated and didn't hurt others.

Oscar is worse because he was intentionally cruel to her when she was very vulnerable and, although a bit of a brat, not deserving of such treatment. He was incredibly heartless and sadistic and deserves to be called much worse than dick. Mimi's wasn't that nice but she was never as sadistic towards another person as he was towards her except in revenge.

Oscar believed that their relationship fell apart so spectacularly because it was so obsessive and passionate to begin hence "we were just too greedy" but really if hadn't been such a bastard things would have gone very differently.

I think Mimi was worse. Oscar was an ass, but he didn't intentionally take away her ability to procreate. She intentionally paralyzed him and took pleasure in the situation. She went too far. At least Oscar offered her a better way out of the misery by asking her to leave and putting her on a plane. Her only offer out was death. Her cruelty was more calculated and devastating.

When Mimi came to see Oscar in hospital he said "so you didn't kill yourself after all" (or words to that effect) so he thought that his actions were likely going to lead her to commit suicide. So he was worse.

He didn't ask her to leave by putting her on a plane. He tricked her into believing he was taking her away when he was abandoning her after she had almost died due to him.

He wanted her to leave, she kept coming back for more, she CHOSE emotional abuse, whereas she deliberately paralysed him forever and twisted the knife while he was helpless. She’s far worse.

The problem was that he couldn't get rid of her. It's true that he was an emotionally stunted little Peter Pan, but a person should be able to get out of a relationship that brings them no joy. Mimi made that impossible, and pushed him into a corner, from which he came out swinging. Not nice, but a common human response. I think they were equal dicks, though she hid her grasping, controlling nature behind a sweet "but I love you" demeanor. A velvet glove hiding an iron fist.
