What happened to Leigh McCormack

I thought he was excellent in this film, I see he has no other credits on IMDB.

I am just curious to know what happened to him after this film?

I can't tell you what happened to him, but his grave face and thoughtful eyes did so much to make this poetic tone poem come to life. Every part seemed cast to perfection, though, and every shot filmed with affection and resonance.

I'm listening to Terence Davies' commentary right now (Criterion edition) and he mentions that Leigh was bored with acting and wanted to be a fireman, which is what he is now.

I don't know why, but I love the fact that he's a fireman.

I just got done watching The Long Day Closes and happened to find Leigh McCormack's performance deep and engaging. Even when not much was occurring and he was staring deep into your eyes, you're so drawn to him as a viewer. It's so refreshing in contrast to the showy and obnoxious nature of most child actors.

Whatever rocks his boat, I guess. An actor's lifestyle isn't for everyone. I guess what matters in the end is following your bliss. It is nice to see Leigh went ahead and did that in spite of this being his sole performance on screen. Oh well! At least he's happy. That's all that counts.

Cast Away...It's like Forrest Gump, but on an island.
