So it wasn't just a dream!

I use to watch this movie all of the time as a child. Every time my family and I went to Blockbusters, this was the movie I'd get. Several years later, I found myself trying to remember some of the old movies I use to watch. Every one of them, excluding this one, I remembered. From "Little Nemo: Adeventures in Slumberland", I vaguely remembered something about a room where everything was upside-down. I also could recall a flying bed. I would ask my friends if they remembered such a movie, and they just looked at my like I was crazy. This afternoon, we were once again talking about movies from our childhood when I began talking about this one. Finally someone else had heard of it! She remembered the name "Nemo" in the title. So I googled it, and somehow found this!

Now I'm so happy. I shall rent it next weekend!

OMG!!! Same here! LOL

I just remembered this little boy and this black smog and someone moaning ,"NEEEEEEEEEEEMOOOOOOOOOOOO...." (I think that gave me nightmares when I was little) Haha, I once wondered if it was only a dream also.

When FINDING NEMO came out, I thought it would be a sequel.... > . > Until I saw the colourful fish.

holy crap, that's my story too. in fact, me and two of my friends had the same story. we saw it when we were little vaguely remembered it, and whenever we told people they told us we're probably making it up or confused or we're just crazy. then we saw a poster at a local theater that was playing old children's movies on saturdays, and the three of us freaked out and started telling our story to each other, and up till then we had no clue what movie it was.

I always remembered this movie...probably because I've kept it on video.

OMG me too! I haven't seen it since I was like four either. I recall being very small and watching one scene about a parade, and I remember a flying squirrel, and this Black stuff (which I found terrifying), and something about keys to the city. Thats all and its pitifully little to try and find a movie title so I gave up a long time ago trying to find it. But yesterday I suddenly remembered the name "Nemo" and so I IMDbed it and FINALLY FOUND IT! Im, like, SOO happy! ^___^

It also led to me telling my mother repeatedly to "close the the closet door so that the Dark doesnt pour out!" This struck her as really poetic for a five year old and she must have thought I was some kind of prodigy or something, lol. Ahhh...good times, man...

I always remembered watching this movie on VHS when I was a kid. I remembered a little boy with black hair... a princess... some guy named flip, a squirrel, and something about a staircase.... I also remember this giant door where all the dark comes out of or somthing like that... I used to be terrified of the dark because of this movie, yet I watched it all the time... Until just now, when I saw an episode of the simpsons where Ralph and Cheif Wiggum fly away on a bed... similar to this movie I remembered... Strange.........

I loved this movie when I saw it as a kid. I'm 23 now. I hope it wasn't just a dream. And of course what I mean is the story in the movie. It's too bad he didn't stay there with Princess Camille. She did star to love him or very much like him. She was just about crying when he was going away....and of course she wanted a goodby kiss.

Hey, me too. It's too bad they didn't make a sequel.

Finding Nemo was a minor disappointment to me too. FN was decent, but it didn't have the artistry that Little Nemo does.
I remembered most of the movie and decided to buy it again after hearing my favorite band do a song called Sleep Little Nemo: The Kidnapping. Thank heavens for ebay.

oh wow. this movie was my FAVORITE movie of all time when i was little! and i was thinking the other day, "what was that movie that i used to watch with the little boy and the black stuff coming out of the door?" so i asked my mom and she thought i was insane lol. then i remember that i watched it at my friend kinsey's house a long time ago so i asked her and shes like "nemo something" lol. so i looked on the internet and found it! i must buy that on dvd now.

yes ill admit that im a fool for you

I totally agree with you. I remember every facet of this movie as I still have the VHS. I want the DVD because they cut stuff from the movie. This is my favorite movie as a child. I remember the pet squirrel, the flying bed, nemo, the train nightmare, the circuis, Professor Genius, Bon Bon, the Dirigable, the crystal cloud, Flip, Morpheous, Princess Camille, the forbidden key & door, the royal cepter(as a kid I pretended I was the one I who had it), the black sludge nightmare, the water nightmare(You KNOW the evil king wants him dead), the Cannon Trial, the boat trip, nightmare land, the goblin oomps, and everything else. I know it feels lolita at my age of 18 now but I fell in love with the princesses voice and I seriously want more to this amazing story.

Hehehe, yeah I was excited to find this on DVD, but the Editing made me sad. ;) I loved this movie, and I only wish that they'd have left it as it was. Ahh well... Also, I originally thought that Finding Nemo was going to be a sequel, and I couldn't wait. The original trailer just showed an ocean and the title, so there was nothing to discourage this thought, until I saw another trailer with the fish. I was soooo disappointed at that point that I decided I hated Finding Nemo on general principles. I've since watched it, wan it isn't horrible... but it certainly holds no candle to Little Nemo. ;)

Heh I own the vhs. I loved this movie as a kid and never ever forgot about it because I have it and I call my brother little nemo. XD

The same thing happened to me. I could only remember something about a flying squirrel and that it had scared me and for the longest time I thought I had just dreamt it up.

I hate to say it..
but alas; i too share the same story!!!

Me and my cousins always talk about the movies we used to watch when we were really little; growing up together.
I'm 17 now and have always had these weird memories of watching some movie at my first house when i was in kindergarden... it was this film in which there was a young boy, some black stuff, a princess with some weird gold fountain or something in her room, and a king.

My cousins remembered it too (as well as the fact that he would fly on a bed which i remembered later), and they knew that the name Nemo was in the title, so i typed Nemo into the imdb search page and voila! As soon as i saw this title I knew I had found my movie.

I plan to go rent the movie now and bring it up to the cottage where i'll be seeing them this weekend :D Won't they be surprised.

We all need to get together or something so we can e-mail, blog or whatever. [email protected] I love this movie. It is a part of my inner childs psyche.

That would be great!

Lol, I have the same story too...It's unbelievable how well this movie was made. It honestly plays with your mind, especially if you saw it a small age. It's a very imaginative movie. They need to do something new with it, i.e. a sequel or re-master it, because it's probably the greatest cartoon movie of all time.
