Why the 'crisis'?

-------------- Maybe spoiler, I don't know! ----------------------------------

So the plot tells us Geller's biological father was a pig farmer, and, one assumes, not a Jew. How about his birth mother? As anyone can tell you, Jewishness is passed on by the mother, regardless of who the father is/was. Zo, one asks, what is the crisis here? If his bio mother is a Jew, he's a Jew. Using semen from a gentile does not a Jew make.

I wonder if anyone at all has raised the same question. Or maybe it just seems too "technical"?

I would liked to have enjoyed it more, but I found it basically uninformed, based on long-held stereotypes, and overall pretty boring. A stab at a "Jewish humor" film made for Gentiles by Jews? Sorry.
