Best shootout i've ever seen in a movie

This movie is incredible, the tracking shot of the shootout blew my mind, now if only movies these days would learn from the choreography of John Woos direction and figure out that shaky camera movements where you can't see any of the action is absolutely terrible, then we'd have better movies these days.

More movies need tracking shot shootouts like this.

HardBoiled will forever be on my list of greatest shootouts ever, not even The Way Of The Gun (2000) comes close in my opinion.

The bottom line is, it takes extra time and money to shoot great action scenes like the ones in Hard Boiled.

The studios aren't interested in spending extra time and money when "action" movies generally do pretty well at the box office and on DVD even with the terrible "cut-every-hit" and shaky cam used for the action scenes.

Every Frame A Painting on youtube has a great video discussing this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1PCtIaM_GQ

A masterful and thrilling sequence that puts most movie shootouts to shame. The intense, realistic shootout in Heat (1995) is probably the only one that wows me like the one in Hard Boiled

Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!

'Hard Boiled' is indeed very beautifully shot film. One of the greatest examples of style over substance. John Woo proves that if you just want silly turn-off-your-brain entertainment it at least should look aesthetically nice with cool characters you actually care about. Even Mad Dog, the bad guy who cared about innocent and who seemed to be the only one unfortunate enough to run out of bullets.

He came into town with his cock in hand, and what he did with it was illegal in 49 states.
