The 2 final choices were Jonathon Brandis and Leo. We went with Jonathon because of his deep voice. It played funnier when he posed as Martha. Leo played it with a high pitched voice when he did Martha, and he would have been way too pretty in the dress.

Much as I love Leo, & trust me I do...big Leo maniac here, I'm glad Jonathan got the role, may he rest in peace. He has the hottest voice I swear.
But there are similarties between Leo & Jonathan look wise, especially at that age(look at Leo in like...Growing Pains for example).

shareOMG, Jonathon's voice is my biggest complaint about the movie! First off, it sounds inauthentic--like he's consciously trying to make it sound deeper than it really is, which is annoying. Secondly it makes the movie more absurd than it already is because no one would ever be dumb enough to believe Martha was really female when she spoke with that voice. As if.
