kinda creepy

I just saw bits and pieces of this movie, and 1 of the scenes I happened to see really creeped me out a bit. It was the scene where the coach is telling this young girl to take off her glasses, take down her hair, he comments on how pretty she looks, etc. and after that I stopped watching it. Seeing an older man telling a child to 'take off' things then tell her how pretty she looks, etc. kinda gives me the chills as a parent!!

Just don't be paranoid.

It's just a movie and there was no sexual connotation to his words. Pester thought she was really ugly and he was just showing her that she was easily as pretty as her teammates. I understand what you mean, especially because of what goes on today, but that scene in the movie was not meant to be disgusting.

I am guessing you did not see the scene in the dressing room where it is implied he is sodomizing the kid. He says, in reference to a dress, "if it's tight, you'll get used to it" but it appears to be another scenario all together from outside the dressing room. Did not realize how twisted that was when i was a kid.

I agree with Frameous... the scene in the dressing room was meant to add a little humor because people always think the worst when they hear things they cannot see. I think he felt bad for poor Penny because she never really fit in with the other girls because 90% of them were prettier than her. She was actually very pretty, but had absolutely zero self esteem and all she needed was that extra lift... someone to make her realize how pretty she really was and she felt comfortable talking to the boys with the other girls.

.. as in, he is a coach with no class i am supposed to think... ? lol

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

Paranoia ahoy!

Stop watching Dateline and get out a bit, you'll drop those perverted associations of yours rather quickly.

People are so funny, they don't watch with context in mind, they just hear the innuendo and cry about it being dirty. What he said had NOTHING to do with sexuality or being turned on, it was about self confidence.

Anyone who sees it as anything else is more of a pedo than anyone. Says a lot about them...

I remember watching this movie as a child and thinking that it was a very forced and silly scene, but when I read the title of the thread, I knew immediately it was referring to this.

reply

You idiot, he was trying to help her have more self esteem. That was the ugly girl anyway, Rodney aimed higher.

movie is harmless fun, maybe you need a therapist

I was more confused about how Chester miraculously produced a mirror during that scene.
