Location of series

I bought the DVD for this series and am enchanted by the gorgeous British scenery used in the location of the series. Does anyone know how I can find out which part of England was used in the filming?

Go to the bonus material of the DVD and you will find a lot of info about the location of the filming, the production design, etc. :-)

I was a nanny for the director Ken Russell's kids so was on the set for a week or so. (The kids had minor roles).
The filming was done on the Isle of Wight. The maze scene was filmed at the maze at Blackgang Chine, and a scene with birds was at the Tropical Bird Park (now closed) near Shanklin. We also filmed up on a clifftop somewhere and on a beach and at a country house which stood in for the Chatterley's house.
That was the first time I'd been to the Isle of Wight so I'm not sure where the house was but I think it was in private ownership. I'd guess (having been back to the Isle of Wight many times since) it was somewhere between Shanklin and Ventnor.

The film crew stayed at the Peacock Vane Hotel in Bonchurch just outside Ventnor (which is also now in private ownership).

If you haven't been to the Isle of Wight I'd definitely recommend it, it is said that it has 'all the scenery of England in just a few square miles' and I'd say that is true. If you do go make sure you go to Ventnor, it is lovely, and get a Minghellas ice cream (made by the family of the late Director Anthony Minghella).

I prefer Imaginality to reality.

Have just watched the series again and the parts that I referred to (filmed on the Isle of Wight) are those set at 'Manderley' where Lady Chatterley goes with her sister to spend the summer with her father. The Maze (at Blackgang Chine) I referred to is the scene where she talks with Donald, and the aviary (at the former Tropical Birdland) is the scene where she holds the budgie.
Molly and Rupert Russell (who I nannied for on the set for that part for the shooting) are the little boy in the scene (who likes 'spaghetti' -they had to do a few takes as, like many kids, he said 'pagsetty') and the older girl who says her favourite kind of Tubism is the Underground. The little girl in the scene was the daughter of one of the cameramen.

edited to add: also found this that gives far more details...

Thank you Julie for the wonderful info. I just saw the film via the US streaming service NETFLIX & loved it. When I finally get to visit England I will put these locations at the top of my list.
